We all need some inspiration every now and again, so I thought "lets have a monthly theme!" We would create a piece of work which followed the theme for the month for example: Africa or COLOURS etc.. Then post it on the group page. Whaddayah thinks?
That heat pin is incredible. Btw, I thought I'd declared the August theme at the beginning of it, but I see no evidence of that. If I didn't, I'm sorry. Don't know how I managed to think I had if I hadn't.
Here's the pathetic explanation for my late September contribution: My girlfriend invited me to a jewelry-making party. Yea! So I get there and it takes me almost an hour to decide what to make, then the little beads kept popping out of my fingers and rolling off of the felty pad that was SUPPOSED to keep them in place! I was a mess! So....I learned to stick with sewing, cause jewelry making is NOT for me, (LOL!) but I did get a cool pair of ocean blue earrings out of the deal!
I finished the orange-pink theme book. I ruined the covers so I just made a quick, slap-dash book for myself. I forgot to take a pic of the rear cover, which features a painted real leaf (pink) on the orange board. Will upload pic. I finished the Ocean theme covers, but have to get more spine cloth in before I can bind the books. I made 2 sets, both featuring the African goddess Oshun. Haven't done the Heat project yet. I doubt I'll be able to catch up before the year's over. Sorry!
I've made several gold brown things, Zayunu, the challenge is taking the pictures when there is no longer much sunlight. Getting my aide to fetch my tools is difficult, but i have getting my halogens up from the basement on the list.
I am sooo sorry everyone, but I am so behind this month that I don't think I'm gonna finish the October challenge. (Pathetic). I guess I'll have to try again for Novemeber.
I made two things, but the image access didn't work! It asks for a url... so I put the images on flickr and it didn't present them... so i gave up, since i can't show what i made for the challenge... but it lead to all sorts of things... a new line of lariats, and i developed brand new patterns for maple leaves, oak leaves and gingko leaves......
ahhh... now add an image gave me the option to uplad from my files! yaya!... maybe it just didn't like macs and denied me this option before...but i hope when i press add comment, you can see the bracelet and the flower and leaf lariats.
My apologies to the group for my lateness. I am feeling rather overwhelmed lately since I had a notion that going back to school would be a good idea. I really miss sewing as much as I used to and I hope I can find a way to juggle. Anyhoo, I'm ready to get started and I hope you like the theme.
Thanks Zayunu! You are my ever inspiration. I usually cover the ends and this time they boldly curl. I need to do more hand exercises, though. I spent more time thinking about it than doing it. Physically, it took about 30 minutes.
by soldering torch do you mean a butane torch?.... would my flamework torch
be useful for that? I see it as stationery, i move glass in and out of the flame, vs.
moving the flame source and the item being stationery.
Yahoo! It's good to hear from you! I'm so glad you're back and I hope you're doing ok. I was having serious pc issues too this year. Ended up buying a Dell Inspiron a few months ago. So far so good. (I'm holding my breath...) I can't remember where we left off either, so I'm game for just about anything! I can't wait!
Hello all! My apologies for the October theme, but I had a death in the family and between helping plan the services, getting through the services and recuperating from the loss, I am totally spent. However, I'm back to work, school and my sewing studio, which helps a lot.
I was actually thinking that PINK would be appropriate for our next theme in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness. What do you think?
