About Me:
Daytime Emmy Award winner Mark Ruffin has created memorable works for Television, Film and Broadway. An Alumni of the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, Ruffin made his mark building puppets at The Jim Henson Company. His work on Sesame Street earned Ruffin an Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Achievement in Costume Design. A second and third Emmy nomination would follow for Sesame Street and a fourth nomination for The Wubbulous World of Dr. Seuss. Among his notable achievements was the creation of The Princess Diana Birthday Commemorative Doll for the Alexander Doll Company.
Ruffin has created costumes for some of the greatest stars of our time, including Janet Jackson, Mary J. Blige and Jill Scott. His designs helped shape the image of music videos. Seagram Americas ABSOLUT Vodka selected Mark Ruffin as its Designer of Choice in The City of Philadelphia for an international show celebrating African fashion design held at The University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archeology and Anthropology.
