Babble

I wish I had 8 arms. It's a bit frustrating, having to work on one craft at a time. While I'm making something, I can't wait until I get to move onto the next project. At the same time I can't rush anything, or else the item will undoubtedly become ruined.

I'm eager to start making soap and shampoo, but I have to exhaust my current materials first, make as many books and jewellery and ornaments as I can before justifying further expense to do more crafts. This probably means another summer will… Continue

Projects

I have found book jewellery (also referred to as "book thongs", but the term "thong" conjures disgusting images for me, and, the synonyms are negative) to be much better than a traditional bookmark. They're unobtrusive and easier to use. I love them and want to provide them with at least 1/2 of my books. My next purchase of bookmaking material will render me almost 400 books. It'll take me forever to paint the covers and so I won't order/make… Continue

Booths

Afrofest is coming up and I'd hoped enough members would sign up so that we could share the booth space for $62.50 each. Unfortunately that's not happening (8 members are needed and would get 1/2 a table each) and I suspect that this is due to cost. One of the things BCG will be doing after obtaining charitable status under a local arts umbrella organisation is raising funds in order to pay for members' selling space at events. It would be great if we could raise enough money to pay for our own… Continue

Cheryl,

Your work is phenomenal. I thought I loved your journals, but your beadwork is awesome.

Cheryl~I have only been a member 4 a short time. But, I just had to thank you again 4 inviting me. It is so rewarding and I am having just a great time learning and sharing. You are so blessed and have done a fine job creating a artistic vehicle for so many artisans. Again Thanks!

A couple weeks ago, I chopped off all my hair. I'm nearly bald now. I'm more used to the feeling, but I wish I hadn't thrown it away. Well, I think I did. A bag-full of hair I could've used in my crafting.

Tuh! My belly's bigger than my butt too. lol I'm also bigger than 22. But hey, that's me! Take it or leave it. :p lol

I share your frustration with time-consuming work. I finished up some books, thinking "Ooo, I got a lot done!" Then I really took a look ... Just 4 books! Ack!

huh?????? lol hey cheryl....hope all is well with you... im flattered that you want to use me in a painting i dont have a problem with that as i know it will be something positive.. this is the only image i have of myself and its very old... (like 40 years ago) lol i never allow anyone to take my picture now.. im a size 22 and hate to see my tummy which is bigger than my butt.. lol i would like to see your completed project though... on another note i keep visiting ning but am totally confused about adding images and doing other stuff and i keep putting it off as im trying to work on doll inventory..its so time consuming not at all like the cards.. anyway i try a figure out something new each day but its slow go.... the site is growing nicely... thanks for this venue...hugs.. tonya

Specific crafting I do (NOT what people do in my company) -- a LIST of what I make, decorate, or artistically alter with my hands, and/or other part of my body.
Journals, Christmas ornaments, light switch plates, jewelry
About Me:
Rughooking I did only once but it is on my list of crafts to engage in regularly. I'm a beginner knitter. At most I can make rags and scarves. I have a portable quilting frame but haven't quilted anything yet. I am dying to do pottery again (1st and last time was 20 years ago) but I probably won't start that until I've retired. I badly want to paint bisque and do bead embroidery ... I'd love to make paper from scratch but I don't think I'd have the patience ... the list goes on. I almost never logout, so my profile will almost always "show" that I'm online. :p
