I just joined a marketing group yesterday for tips on how to sell my books, esp. in person. Someone sent me this pdf article. Some of what's said I already have applied in my life (not as a seller), but there are some other comments that are useful to me as one who needs to take risks for a change. Extreme hardship and poverty have conditioned me to not try anything on a big scale, to not try anything that has even only a tiny possibility of failure. Now that my situation is a bit better, this is ridiculous! Anyway, here's the info (quoted):
100 Ways to Kill a Concept: Why Most Ideas Get Shot Down (written
by Michael Iva, world renown new product launch specialist), is an uniquely insightful manifesto full of idea solicitation principles that help you understand things are the way they are, so you can
learn HOW TO SELL YOUR CONCEPTS EASIER. Once you understand that, you can increase your odds for success and allow more of your concepts to survive and prosper. Remember this, you have to sell a concept before it can happen.
