Black Crafters Guild

African Diasporans creating, decorating, and artistically altering by hand

Peace Everyone,

This is more of an invitation and Cheryl knows what I am talking about. I have a internet radio show that is a call in program as well as one where I upload programs. I am inviting BCG members the opportunity to come on the show to talk about their crafts and promote their business. It is an opportunity to direct people to your site and sell your creations. I am hoping you can take advantage of this, plus it gives me an opportunity to talk about my designs as well. I can have up to five people call in at the same time to talk about their challenges and so forth so you are all welcome to hit me up and let me know what you think of the idea. Oh yeah, the show requires that you have long distance because you have to call in, there is also a chat area that you can participate in as well. Let me know and I can give you all the information you need as well as a good time to do the show. I would like to do this particular show at least once a month on a Sunday afternoon. What do you think? I am open to ideas.

Omigosh, Ifama! So generous of you! Thank you! And I'm so sorry ... I know you left an email and I keep forgetting to mark it as unread so that I can remember to respond. I have the ability to call you under an unlimited plan for the US and Canada. Please forgive me my lapse. At the moment I've lost my head and I don't think I'll be able to find it until after Sunday. And even then, only for a brief period. :( I don't have much access to a phone during the day though.
Well Sis, hopefully this is the opportunity you have been waiting for. My show is on Blog Talk Radio as well as Live 365. My Blog Talk show is at http;//www.blottalkradio.com/Queen-Ifama and my show on live365 is http://www.live365.com/stations/ifama?play

Blog talk I like better because first it is "free" for me to produce and people and guests can call into the show to do it. I had thought about doing a show completely about my business, but I have found that people don't go for that on a constant basis, but they will tune into guests who come on with something to sell or tell. The show is also archived so that those who miss it can log on to my page and still access it. I will also run this show on my Live365 station for my listening audience that tunes in over there too.

I have done a show with a business and the business person still directs people to the show via the archives. So that said, what I want to do is determine a REGULAR time that we here on BCG can do the show. Sunday afternoons and evenings (1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th Sundays) are available to me as I do a regular show on Saturday's at 7:00 which is a cultural/political/opinionated, type show, so I don't want to get folks confused about the formats. My goal is to do a monthly show for BCG members for a couple of hours to talk about their product and give information on how people can purchase them. Let me get a consensus on who is willing to be the first guest crafters and I will set the show up.
Another thought: Although this is my internet radio program, I will be coordinating this show with a lot of input from the founder of BCG which is Cheryl, so she will have a lot of say in how the show it is ran as long as I am representing BCG and our crafters, which is what my intention is. I respect her that much, ya'll. I don't think it will be complicated but I do not want to feature any other businesses that are not part of BCG on the day I set aside for THIS show. So anyone from BCG can be part of the show and ideas from members are invited. I don't know if Cheryl would like to limit the guest artists to just those on ning or BCG in general, as I realize everyone is not on ning. Anothing thing with Blog Talk, it also depends on if I can get in on a certain day, and I can only schedule, from what I have seen, is about four weeks in advance, so if I get in early enough, I can lock in the particular time on the Sunday we choose for the show.

I think to make it easier because everyone will have a Sunday THEY want and we will never come to a consensus on that, I am going to set the Sunday for the fourth Sunday, at 7:00 CST. Now the time is flexible, so we can negotiate on that, okay, only Cheryl can change which Sunday, so I am just putting that out there so folks don't feel as though they are being kicked to the curb. In the meantime, I will be selecting a cool song for our theme and I do invite suggestions for music, but I will choose which one will be it, okay? Also, if you want to do a commercial, about 1 minute that we can cut to during a break that is cool as well. I think this is going to be great, we just have to work it.
How's the show been going? Has anyone from BCG gone on air yet? I'd so love to hear a tape!
